Can't use McDonald's gift cards in their mobile app

Beware! You cannot use the gift card on mobile order.
Basically when you buy their gift card you don't get to enjoy their offers and deals because all those offers and deals on the mobile app. I called their customer service they say that their IT team is working on it, it was 4 months ago and when I called them today they're still working on it so basically a their advice to me is to Wait.

Hopefully they'll add gift card support to their mobile app soon and do it the same way that Starbucks does. I have a lot of gift cards with smaller amounts so it'd be nice to be able to merge them all together easily within the app.

Use them in the drive-thru or go inside. I know it can be a hassle if you are used to a McD's worker to bring it out to you instead (like the girls on roller skates used to do in old movies), but not every app is perfect. They might be lying to you and this is exactly the way they want it set up.

The fact is, Gift Cards aren't always redeemed and they're great for a business. Just like when there's 12 cents left it goes into the garbage instead of being redeemed at the store.

The McD app is one of the worst food apps I have used. You can't place a pickup order without being outside the restaurant. The app will check location and only send the order when I am outside. At which point, it is absolutely useless. I can just go in and also place the same order, or just goto the drive-thru.
